Conventional Dialysis
The patient will have their dialysis treatment performed by certified staff in a comfortable in-center setting. The treatments are 3 times a week for an average of 3.5 to 4 hours per treatment.
Short Daily In-Center Dialysis
The patient is dialyzed 5 times a week for treatment time for less than 3 hours per treatment. This is done in an In-center setting with minimal-to-full assistance by trained staff. Patients are encouraged to take part in their dialysis treatments. Learn more about Advanced Kidney Therapies.
Home Hemodailysis or HHD
The patient and care partner are trained by training nurse at both the training facility and home setting to perform dialysis in the patient’s home setting. Treatment is typically 5 times a week for less than 3 hours per treatment.
Respite Care
Temporary or part-time care provided in place of the primary caregiver or partner of a chronic kidney disease patient on dialysis. The duration of respite care can vary, depending on the patient’s and caregiver’s needs, from several hours a day to an entire week. This service tends to the caregiver’s needs as their role in a dialysis patient’s care can be demanding and stressful at times.
Peritoneal Dialysis
Patient has a peritoneal catheter placed in abdomen. Patient is trained at the training facility by certifies staff to perform peritoneal dialysis at home. This type of dialysis is done daily, by manual exchanges or on a cycler at night.
The two types of PD are:
- CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis), which allows you to perform your daily activities in between exchanges.
CCPD (Continuous Cycling Peritoneal Dialysis) is performed at night with the use of a cycler.
